Last night I started a new knitting project. It’s Coco’s Pearls and it’s another easy one. The yarn is Rowan Belle Organic by Amy Butler. It’s 50% wool and 50% cotton and I love it! It feels like suede.
Vince had a busy day today and didn’t come home for lunch. That makes for a very long day for me when I see or talk to no one from about 6:30 am. til after 5 p.m. I made some good progress on this knitting project, canned some tomatoes, watered everything except the garden. The mosquitoes are unbelievable after the rains we’ve had. In the two years we’ve lived here, I have not seen a single mosquito til now and I’m telling you . . the minute I walk into an area that has lots of grass (or weeds), the mosquitoes are just horrendous! Yesterday in the garden, I swatted one spot on my leg and killed four mosquitoes . . in one hit. They all had blood in them and since there aren’t many humans out here, I’m assuming it was my blood. Either my blood or chicken blood! Or I guess it could have been fox or coyote blood. Darned mosquitoes. Why don’t they eat grasshoppers? Or maybe grasshoppers could eat mosquitoes!
Speaking of coyotes and foxes, Saturday we were sitting on the front porch visiting with another couple. The lady and I had our back to the woods. The guys thought they saw a jack rabbit but quickly decided it was a bobcat . . right there at the edge of our fence! By the time the ladies stood up to look, it was gone and we didn’t get to see it.
Anyway, I spent most of the day piddling . . cooking, knitting, working on border ideas in EQ for the quilt on my design wall and basically, I enjoyed the day but didn’t accomplish much! At least I didn’t take a nap which I thought about doing several times.
I’ll get with the program tomorrow and make some good progress on something . . maybe! :)
