Don’t forget that if you want to join us for the “knit along . . of sorts” on the Dreambird project, the pattern and projects made by others can be found on Ravelry. This is is a good time to mention that any of you who don’t knit but would love to knit . . you know what I’m going to say . . you aren’t going to learn by osmosis! If you don’t want to knit, maybe tried and don’t like it . . nothing wrong with that but really folks, don’t say “I wish I knew how to knit”! Say “Dang it . . I’m really wanting to learn to knit and before the end of the year, I’m going to be knitting!” You can teach yourself . . that’s basically how I learned and probably why you don’t want to be asking me knitting questions. There are so many youtube videos and online classes. There’s no excuse for not knitting if you want to knit. And . . please don’t tell me that you don’t knit because it’s hot where you live. I live in central Texas!
Back to Dreambird . . I read through the pattern last night. I wouldn’t recommend this for a beginning knitter. It’s not that’s it’s THAT hard (but I haven’t started on mine yet so don’t listen to me) but there are lots of short rows and terms in there that may cause frustration for a beginner. Otherwise, just from reading through it all, I think I can do it! Which means . . I think if you halfway know how to knit, you can do it too.
About our yarn choices . . have you decided what you’re using yet. After dragging out more yarn and trying to decide, I’ve gone back to the brown/pink combo. This is what I’m using for the first one and yes, I think there will be another one.
On Sunday, we will begin our knit along. Please share a link to your yarn if you have it chosen.
