Last night we had the scorpion sting. What are the chances of two boring old folks having excitement . . maybe that isn’t the right word . . two nights in a row?
Vince went to take his shower. I went out with Speck. On the way in, a bug flew in. He landed on the ceiling fan in the dining area. I climbed up in a chair, gently swatted at the bug, he flew and landed on another spot and I swatted at him again, not so gently but the pull thing for the fan hit one of the bulbs and it shattered. Glass went everywhere.
We obviously had the wrong size light bulbs in there but that’s probably what kept the globe from breaking.
I’m in the chair with no shoes on and there’s glass all over the floor and Vince is in the shower. I thought about trying to jump to a chair that didn’t have glass all around it but the cushions on the chairs aren’t tied down so I figured I’d break my neck so I stood in the chair til Vince got out of the shower.
Me: As soon as you can .. I need help!
Vince: Are you hurt?
Me: No . . but I’m kinda stranded.
Vince: Do I need to prepare myself?
Me: Just wear shoes!
He came in and brought me a pair of shoes, I got down from the chair, cleaned up the mess and .. we’re good to go and ready for our next adventure.
