Lately I’ve been making several of Laura Aylor’s knitting designs. I made Rhinecliff, then I made Brier Island, then I made Dunbar and most recently, I finished Sleepy Hollow. Laura is a wonderful designer. Her instructions are easy to follow and she’s overall a very, very nice person!
You can see all of her designs here.
To celebrate my newly discovered love of sweater knitting, and to celebrate Laura’s wonderful patterns, you can win $25 worth of Laura’s patterns. Here’s how it will work:
- Look through Laura’s patterns and choose one that you would love to make . . either for yourself or as a gift.
- Leave a comment below and your comment MUST include the following:
- Which pattern you would choose and why.
- Your Ravelry username
The Ravelry username is required because I want to be sure that the pattern goes to someone who knits! On Thursday, a winner will be chosen and announced. The winner will get with Laura and let her know which patterns, amounting to $25 total, you would like to receive.
I know you didn’t ask . . but I would love to make:
- All the Shades of Truth
- Enamored
- Cinnamon Toast
- Faberge (I actually have the yarn and the beads to make that one)
- Hot Tea
- Stonehaven
- Sleepy Hollow — yes, I really want to make another one of those!
Get busy — check out Laura’s patterns and check back on Thursday to find out who the lucky winner will be.

Very difficult to choose “just one”, LOL…..I LOVE the sweaters you’ve recently knit, and she has several other super neat patterns, but, I guess my choice would be BURN – why, because I like the mock/turtleneck, I like the 3/4 length sleeve and it just looks like it would be very versatile sweater. It’s so hard to choose just one! I hadn’t realized I have so many of her patterns in my favorites and in my queue — she just makes beautiful things. I have to go with Faberge though. Its been in my queue for quite a while and every time I see it, I just love it. I’m craftygal on Ravelry.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that my Ravelry name is “knittypi”. It was a “dain bramage” moment.

Fabergé is the closest to the top of my queue of the several patterns of hers I want. I just finished Stella Luna in Decemeber and adore it. I love the scale quilting stitch in Fabergé and the pattern changes frequently enough so I won’t get bored. And there are some new to me techniques to learn which is something I try to find as often as possible.
