Warning . . there’s a “S” picture below, but it’s a baby. Here’s a totally unrelated picture so the “S” won’t show up on the feed.
I do believe the snakes are taking over this year. We’ve never seen so many. This one is in almost the exact spot where the little roadrunner was earlier.
I looked down and this little guy was under the grill.
He tried hiding in that little wheel. I told him he could live if he would go away and never come back near my house again.
He really is a little guy but all that means is there’s probably a mom and dad somewhere very close. I’ll probably regret having let him go but he was just a baby and I had no idea what kind of snake he was so . . I gave him a chance.

I would have given him a chance about 2 miles down the road..

The other day, DH and I stopped as we were driving down the dirt road and watched a roadrunner chase and catch a snake. It was fascinating, but alas my pictures didn’t turn out as I was taking them through the windshield because we didn’t want to scare the roadrunner and the sun was glaring..The roadrunner was just beating that little snake on a rock like crazy and then gobbled him up. So it’s very likely that your roadrunner made a meal out of your little snake. You need more roadrunners!

Thanks for the pizza picture! I’d much rather look at that…LOL At least he was little!

Playing catch up here! A week ago Sunday, a dear aunt was taking her usual walk, texting, stepped on a snake and sustained two bites/punctures from a rattlesnake. (talk about don’t drive and text) She has received 6 anti-venom doses and two more have been ordered (probably given by now). She is in a great deal of pain; have no idea what she may have to deal with yet. Thinking of you and your snakes all week but just now settled down to write!
