Vince loves to give me a hard time about the amount of yarn that arrives here. In fact, he gives the mail ladies a hard time about bringing it and they don’t even want to deliver yarn to me on Saturday. It doesn’t matter what day of the week I order yarn, it seems to arrive on Saturday. I had two packages that USPS was saying would be delivered on Monday and nope .. they got delivered on Saturday. Can’t complain about that.
Vince would probably like to be serious when he complains about the yarn but I just laugh so he never pushes the issue too much but . . Saturday, there were FOUR packages of yarn that arrived. They were all small packages and fit in the mail box. I had already told the mail lady that we wouldn’t be here and she said she thought they would all fit in the box. So, when we drove up from being at a picnic, Vince pulled up to the mail box and I was thinking . . I’m going to be in trouble! 🙂
Sure enough, he opened the door and the box was stuffed full of packages. I’ll talk about them on my Friday report but one was from a new dyer, Raspberry Dyeworks. I had heard about her on the Grocery Girls’ podcast. I think they said she was 14 or 16 years old. Her yarns are gorgeous. They are dyed to order (I think) so it takes a couple of weeks to get them but well worth the wait.
The packaging was delightful.
It was such a pleasant surprise to open the shopping bag and see my yarn in such pretty, dainty bags. There were two pieces of hard candy in each bag and the tag is attached to the yarn with a safety pin type stitch marker.
Not only was the presentation great, but the yarn is amazing . . more amazing than it appears on her website.
This one is “A Unicorn and a Rainbow Had a Baby”. The names of her yarn are so cute!
This one is “Love is Everything, Everything”. I think this one will make some amazing socks!
If you need a “pick me up”, make a knitter smile gift, I highly recommend Raspberry Dyeworks.
