Today after I left knitting, I went to get the oil changed and the guys working there were all happy and smiling and when the guy walked up to hand me the charge slip to sign, he was singing a little song. I looked at him and he said “It’s a good day!” We chatted a minute and I left there thinking .. this really is a pretty nice place to live.
Then I went to United and a sheriff’s deputy was out ringing the Salvation Army bell. He was a young guy but anyone under 40 looks young these days. He had a bell in each hand and he was playing a song and jiving. I said to him “I’ve never seen it done quite like that before!” and he said “All I need is a set of drums!” He was smiling and happy.
It was so nice to encounter people who appeared to be enjoying their day and hopefully, their life. Being around happy, smiling people makes it hard not to be happy and smiling.
It also makes me happy that here we are almost in the middle of December and it’s 60°+ and sunny. Can’t complain about the winter we’re having here so far.
Now . . if I could just find those cookie molds, I’d be really happy! 🙂

I can hardly wait to hear where the molds ended up! Makes me a smile a little bit every time you mention them — so there you have it, count me as “happy people”!

Wasn’t there four boxes you never unpacked in the last house you had? You just moved them again unopened. Maybe they are in there.

Look I’m the cabinet in the dining room in something that is in there.

I liked what you described here. It’s what I always liked about small town South Dakota, though it’s way to cold for me to live there year round. People were not in a hurry all the time, and they were nice to each other. The librarian would talk a while, the post office fella, if there was no line, the girl cleaning shelves in the Ben Franklin – just walk around town and pet dogs and talk to folks. It was so pleasant!

Did you look in the boxes with your Christmas decorations?
