How’d you do this week? I used 6-1/2 yards and added nothing. Most of what I’ve used was on a blue star quilt I’m working on and should have a picture of at least the blocks by this afternoon.

Done and Ready for Quiltathon
June 3rd, 2008 · 9 Comments
This is the quilt I’ve been working on for the past week. My friend, Betty, has The Village Mercantile in Boonville, Indiana, which was my local quilt shop when I lived in Kentucky. The Village Mercantile is such a neat shop. The shop hop for their area (southern Indiana) is June 21 [...]

Have you heard of Sock Madness? Actually, this is Sock Madness 2 and I’m playing. Sock patterns are given to the participants and then we get busy and get our socks finished as fast as we can. There are 55 - 60 players in each of 4 categories. For the first round, the first 40 [...]

Yarn Arrived
February 25th, 2008 · 8 Comments
Wouldn’t it be just my luck that the mail man arrived today while Vince was home at lunch? He brought yarn from Eat, Sleep & Knit
and yarn from Fearless Fiber
and yarn from Jimmy Bean’s Wool.
Then I spent most of the afternoon getting it put into balls.
OK . . that’s it . . no [...]

Week in Review
February 22nd, 2008 · 8 Comments
If I had a theme for this week, it would have to be Wastin’ Time. I have so much sewing to get done, deadlines that must be met, projects that must be done and I just can’t get it in gear. I haven’t been sick, haven’t felt bad, but I seem to have [...]

Sittin’ and Knittin’

I am sick and just felt like sleeping in the recliner all day.
The electricity was off and all I could do was sit in the recliner and knit.
OK . . none of the above is totally true but all three statements are partially [...]

Warm Socks
October 12th, 2007 · 5 Comments
If I didn’t know better, I’d think green was my favorite color. I’ve never considered green to be anywhere near the top of my favorites but if you look at my walls, my stash and the socks I’ve knitted lately, green seems to be the most prevalent color I use/buy.
The pair on the [...]

Completed Socks
October 3rd, 2007 · 12 Comments
There’s 9 pair of completed socks. The four on the bottom right are just one sock but the second one is almost finished for green one one the end.
I’ve also given way four pairs so that means I’ve made 13 completed pairs and four half pairs!
The problems I had last night with winding the [...]

Cheering Myself Up
May 30th, 2007 · 6 Comments
I’m not going to sit here and cry over some ugly piece of red steel but that’s surely what I felt like doing. I remind myself that none of us are sick, we have the means to buy another vehicle, so . . get over it. OK. OK! I’ll get over [...]
