Quilt for an Hour Projects

Several times during the year, I share a project in which the instructions are broken down into hourly increments or close to one hour increments. What takes me one hour to do, might take some 1-1/2 hours and it might take others 1/2 hour. It isn’t a race but it’s simply to set aside a certain amount of time each day to sew and get a quilt top made.

It isn’t a mystery because the project is shown ahead of time. The fabric requirements and cutting instructions are posted a week or so before the actual sewing begins.

Sewing instructions are posted on weekdays only. Not long after all the instructions have been posted, they will be removed. The pattern will then be offered as a free pattern or as a pattern available for purchase.

Watch here for news about the next Quilt for an Hour project.

This will be a welcome distraction. I have one month left of my youngest son’s senior year, and also one month before we move. It’s not like I won’t have enough to do, it is more like I will have too much. I am looking forward to doing something that someone has already done all the thinking for me. Thank you!

This sounds like something I would like to do. So I will be joining you in May for this project. And it’s a good thing, I have almost a month to think about color. :-)

I’d like to do this project. It would be fun - and what a great little quilt to “end up” with. Thanks for doing this ! Is there a special “sign up” page?

  • 26 Gloria // Jun 3, 2008 at 7:30 am

I’d love to see the pattern as well. You said it would be up until June 6, but I didn’t see it anywhere, is it too late to do?

  • 27 Lori // Jun 3, 2008 at 8:44 am

Gloria, I couldn’t find it either that was why I figured I would join the next one. Course I do not have a blog and not sure how this works if I need to set one up to get the pattern. can anyone tell me please. Thanks

  • 28 Karri // Jun 6, 2008 at 12:36 pm

Does anyone know where the pattern for this is posted? I bought the rulers for this and the fabric and can’t do anything with them because I can’t find the pattern either! I don’t have a blog either is that a requirement? Suggestions? Thanks

  • 29 Kerri // Jun 6, 2008 at 12:55 pm

    Karri,

If you go to the regular blog posts and scroll down you will find all the instruction days, numbered Quilt hour#1 - I think #8. If you get to the bottom of a page, hit older posts for the earlier ones. I printed them, just in case. piecing my block now, a little late!
