Quilting Magazines

On Lime Green Kitchen today:

Caponata – Eggplant Salad.  Even if you don’t think you like eggplant, you might want to try this salad.  It’s good on crackers or bagel crips, as well as eaten as a salad.

A while back I commented on quilting magazines.  With the exception of American Quilter, which comes with an AQS membership, all of my subscriptions had expired.  My plan was to view the magazines on the news stands and buy the ones that interested me.  While traveling here and there to teach, it was easy to run into a book store and look at the magazines.  I found that I was picking up McCall’s Quilting and Quiltmaker.  The current issue of McCall’s has the picture of my sewing room and I haven’t been able to find the issue yet.  Wal-Mart isn’t carrying it any more so I’m out of luck unless I go to Joplin or Kansas City and you know that isn’t happening before Christmas.

Quiltmaker has their 100 Blocks magazine/book out and it is fantastic!  There are some really interesting blocks in this issue. I was able to get it when we were in Joplin last week.

100

No more scrambling for magazines I can’t find.  No more missing articles/designs I want to make or even if I don’t make them, they provide inspiration.  I’ve re-subscribed to both issues.

I’m not sure if it was me, or them or a combination of both but for a while, I just wasn’t finding a lot of inspiration in the magazines but McCall’s and Quiltmaker have inspired me and I again look forward to receiving each issue.  If you let your subscriptions expire, you might want to check these two out again if you haven’t seen them in a while.
