This time of year, every single day when I walk outside, I say: I know you can see me but I can’t see you! I’m talking to the snakes. Folks are reporting them everywhere. One lady told me today that she had a friend who had a rattlesnake in her chicken coop. Some things I shouldn’t know!
I went outside earlier this afternoon and, as usual was on the lookout for a snake.
Something caught my attention in the old mesquite tree.
It’s hard to see him but I hope you can see him in that hole. I scared him. He scurried off and made me jump! His tail was missing. Maybe something almost got him or he got it caught in something. Poor guy.
Wendy says
Poor guy – no way – it’s a snake – enough said. Glad I live where I live – only snakes we encounter are garter snakes. It’s really rare if we see them.

Judy,
Please take care – you’ve had big changes this year – pay attention to your own health too! I’ve been following you since the 2 homes in Kentucky – wishing you the best! And secretly hoping you get the quilitng bug back!!!
Sherrill Pecere says
Yep, I see him. Just like the one you posted the other day. His camo’s working. Do they make snake spray (like bear spray)? HAHA
Susan says
He is really hard to see – great for him! Hope the snakes are all bright yellow! =)
Viki Kirby says
I got a scare at my house in Indiana last week. Kitten was making lots of funny noises and when my husband looked over the arm of the couch to see what the scuffle was about, he saw a 5 foot rat snake, not poisonous or nasty tempered, but not something you want in your house. Must have come in through the window before I got the screens on.
Jackie says
I can’t see him, even with the pic enlarged but then it could be psychosomatic I’m terrified of snakes. Take care I’d never go out if it was me.
Twyla Starr says
Poor snake my foot! He now lives to scare you again!!
Nelle Coursey says
I see it, poor lizard!
