I am putting the finishing touches on my fun mentor post, which will appear in the blog Sunday. However, I wanted to interrupt my very busy, busy day (hear that Judy) to thank all of you that read and especially those who commented on PFTR yesterday. Your continuing support is key to keeping me around. There are so many JDs (Judy Duties) I need to accomplish, the only way I can explain some lack of progress is with your supportive comments. This is true especially in her absence because the VDs don’t go away. Catchy acronym don’t you think? Well I have one even better for you. My parents in their great wisdom gave me a middle name starting with a D. So guess what my nickname was in college? Yup, you got it! Friends of mine would make a point of calling me by my nickname whenever it appeared there might be a potential date in the works. Oh well, those were the good ol days.
It’s a bright sunny but cool day in the Heart of Texas. I don’t know if Judy ever told you but we live about 20 miles from the geographical center of the State and thus the reason for the descriptive name.
Rita and I were up early today. After breakfast we caught up on the news and emails and then I headed to my shop. No time for reading facebook posts today and there were no phone calls from you know who checking up on me. It was a good morning.
Rita and I just finished lunch and now we are very briefly watching an update on the hurricane. I am keeping the kefir going, another JD I agreed to perform. I do enjoy drinking it, so I guess it’s not fair calling it a JD. I now see the start of a new acronym, JVDs. We just love acronyms . . can you tell?
There was excitement in the air yesterday afternoon when I drove down the driveway to our mailbox There was a big box setting at the corner of our gate. I wondered what that could be because I couldn’t immediately think of anything I ordered. As I got closer to the package I could read the label and guess to whom it was addressed? Yup, you got it! What has she ordered now I asked myself? Even when she is away, packages keep coming. I started to lift the box and, oh my, it was heavy. This is some really dense yarn I thought. I loaded the box in the back of my car and drove it back to the house. To my surprise, when I opened the box, guess what I found. WAX! The wax, which I was chastised about last week, had arrived. So now, in about two weeks, I can start drilling the oak and inserting the mushroom mycelia. I would apologize for thinking Judy would order more yarn, but I read her post earlier today where she revealed she did indeed order more yarn.
I had better get off of here and get back to work before the phone rings. Oh, one more thing, Judy explained to me yesterday that I can respond to your comments directly on the blog. So if there is something you want more explanation on or an answer, I will try to comply. I can’t promise it will be immediate or always possible because you know the JDs are waiting on me!
Have a Good Day Vince PS Music playing in the shop today is Bon Jovi. Give it a listen and you can pretend you are here JDing with me. 🙂 Who knows, you might even get a phone call. 🙂
