This afternoon Vince and I were talking about a simple life. Remember when life was simple? I suppose everyone has their own definition of simple. Most days, for us anyway, life is simple but today we had to be gone most of the day and we made so many stops. By the time we got thome, I felt like I had run a marathon or worse!
First, we dropped Rita off at the vet in Abilene. Her pressure was good. Everything checked out. She was so happy to see us. That always makes me feel so good. Fate! We almost didn’t even know each other and now she loves us dearly. She was so funny this morning. I guess she knows our routines so well that she knew something was up this morning. When she has to go out, she goes to the back door and makes a kind of grunting/growling sound. I heard her making that noise and I thought she wanted to go out so I went to the door and she wasn’t there. I began calling her and she didn’t come. I was about to get concerned and I walked in the bedroom. She was by the bed wanting to go to bed . . at 7:45 a.m. Vince said I guess she figures if we all get back in bed, we’re not going to leave her home alone. She’s a good little car rider and she doesn’t even seem to mind being left at the vet.
Then we went to Target where we were supposed to quickly and easily get new SIM cards for our phones. We’ve tried Consumer Cellular. We like it. We want to keep our old AT&T numbers but transfer them to the Consumer Cellular phones. C.H.A.O.S.
We were in Target for over an hour. The guy in electronics was very helpful but he kept having to wait on other people because he was on hold so long with Consumer Cellular. They said it could take up to 48 hours for the transfer to actually happen so we left Target, each of us with two phones . . one working and one not working, but at any time, that should switch and the non-working phone should become the working phone and vice-versa. I’ll believe that it’s all going to work when I see it happen.
We went to Jason’s Deli for lunch. Does that look anything like a keto meal? No! But it was delicious.
We went T. J. Max. Vince bought a few things. I bought nothing. We went to Michael’s. Neither of us bought anything. We went to Old Navy. I need at least one more pair of jeans that fit and a couple of pairs of shorts. Nope, didn’t buy anything. We went to Bed, Bath & Beyond looking for cookie stuff. Nope. Didn’t buy anything.
We went by JoAnn’s. I went in there and Vince went to some kind of dollar store next door. Neither of us bought anything. Then we went to the Green Grocer. Vince bought nutritional yeast, which is what he went there for.
We came so close to buying a pickup. We need a pickup. We need two decent vehicles. But, if we’re moving, and who knows if we are, we really need a 4 wheel drive pickup. We don’t want to pay to license it in Texas if we’re only going to be here a few months so, in the end, we didn’t buy a pickup.
Then we went back by the vet’s to get Rita.
Before we got home, Vince got a call from Consumer Cellular. The guy at Target had put an AT&T SIM card in Vince’s phone and a T-Mobile SIM card in my phone. T-Mobile does not work here at all. Poor Vince . . he was on the phone with Consumer Cellular for an hour getting that all straightened out. Vince switched the AT&T SIM card to my phone. They re-activated his trial phone with the CC number and they’re sending him a new AT&T SIM card.
It was a full day of feeling like we were chasing our tails. I’m so glad to be home and I’m going to sit here and knit til bedtime, which may be much earlier than usual!
