The pattern I’ve used is So Faded, for those who may not know the pattern I’m using. I’m steeking it to make it into a cardigan. Last night, I finished the knitting.
This is fingering weight yarn and it will be a lightweight, somewhat cropped sweater . . not as long as most of my winter sweaters. I will probably make 3/4 length sleeves because I will likely keep them pushed up.
I’ve watched literally dozens of steeking videos. Most are to the same with a little variation. Most recommend soaking and blocking before steeking but they’ve finished their sweaters. I’m not going to make the sleeves til I’m sure I’m not going to ruin the whole thing so last night after binding off the body of the sweater, I spritzed the front with warm water and left it blocking overnight.
Today, I will start the steeking progress. The next few blog posts will document my progress and hopefully, successful steek.
I don’t believe it’s hard but I do believe it’s somewhat risky so I’m not worried but I will be happy when it’s done and everything looks right.
