In 2014 I made this sweater for Nicole.
Nicole still wears hers and loves it. I started one for myself in January, 2015 and made decent progress on it but then, I got near the bottom and that progress completely stopped and it has sat in a bag for over four years.
I’ve never liked the way it fit me because I feel it’s too long for a short person. Nicole isn’t much taller than I am but she has long legs. Also, no matter how much weight I lose, I’ll always have a big butt and with the short rows that make the back of this sweater longer, it just cups around my butt and I don’t like that.
I am serious about finishing some projects so I got this one out, tried it on, took it off and thought about it for a while. I was tempted to rip it all out and make something else but then figured just shortening it, and having it all the same length, I’ll like it much better.
Also, I do not like pockets in a sweater but these were so cute with the I-cord band but now I know I’ll never like these pockets so, I ripped it all back to before the pockets. That took out all the short row area.
My plan is to knit with the gray, make regular 2/2 ribbing using the gray, then decide what to do about the neck/button bands, and finish the sleeves.
