This morning I had my “welcome to Medicare” exam. I will get the routine bloodwork (after I’m back on my diet for a few weeks) but otherwise . . it was kind of a joke. One thing that was funny – I was asked to count backwards from 100 by 7s. What? I said “Can I use the calculator on my phone?” Nope . . I had to do it from my brain. Why? How many people can count backwards by 7s? I did it . . down to 65. When the doctor came in, she said “I’m not sure I could do that!” She tried and got one number wrong and we had a good laugh.
Now, all I have to do is eat better and go get the bloodwork done. She’s scheduling a bone density, which is kinda crazy because I’m not going to take meds, and my mammogram. Once all that is done and I’ve passed (or somewhat passed as far as the bone density goes), then I should be good to go for a while.
