After Vince grilled the chile peppers this morning, he came in and said “The grill is nice and hot. Is there anything you want to grill?”
Grilling wasn’t on the agenda today but who wants to pass up the opportunity to use a nice, hot grill?
I was cutting up okra and Vince said “Have you ever grilled okra?” Nope .. but no time like the present, so we tried that. I had a poblano pepper for the carnitas later this week so I put it on the grill. We had a couple of different kinds of sausage in the fridge so we added that and had a nice, unexpected grilled lunch.
The okra was good but bland. If I had known I was going to grill it, I would probably have marinated it overnight in olive oil and wine or balsamic vinegar, with garlic and other seasoning.
