As I’ve mentioned before, the summer heat hasn’t been the worst this year. The grasshoppers were bad but I don’t see too much they’ve eaten . . like window screens, webbing on lawn furniture, etc.
Look at that! After tomorrow, our temps start going down and by the end of September, our highs are going to be in the 80’s. Another summer in central Texas is behind us.
I am so thankful that several years ago we changed out the a/c in our house. The unit we have now does a superb job of keeping the humidity out and keeping the temp just where we want out and it’s quiet. The unit that was in this house when we bought it . . not so great. It makes a huge difference being able to stay cool and comfortable.
Speaking of electricity . . to keep s cool . . Vince had to call our retail provider about something else the other day and he asked them “What happens if we send back more than we use?” The guy said “You get more money back from us!” Vince told him that he thought we could not be a net producer, meaning we send back to them more than we buy from them and the guy told us they no longer have that rule. Yay! We never knew what would happen if we were a net producer . . we just knew we couldn’t do it but for some reason, we are doing it. Even keeping the house so cool at night that several times, I’ve made it warmer because I was freezing, we still can’t use more than we’re sending back so, at least til the rules change again, we don’t have to worry about that.
