The days are getting shorter and the evenings cooler. That can mean just one thing, it’s time for football! I love watching my alumauters’ teams play. But I do have to confess, I will tune into a few other teams if I think it will be a good game. The only bad thing about football season is that we once again have to subscribe to some streaming service to view the games. Luckily, the streaming services have become more reliable, are much less expensive than satellite providers and there is no long term contract. So at the end of football season, we can go back to cord cutting with the exception of minor selective viewing options. Turning off the talking heads has been wonderful and I will refrain from tuning in just because they are once again available until football season ends.
Yesterday was a great day for football. I got up early to perform my morning internet surfing ritual and drink my coffee. After the sun came up, I went outside for a couple of hours to get a few things accomplished before it became too hot. At 1 pm the games started and I was entertained until bedtime. Usually, I will only watch one or two games on Saturday but yesterday was an exception. Being retired, I can plan my week better knowing in advance that not much will usually be accomplished on a football Saturday. Judy is not much of a TV watcher, but I see her getting into the good games.
Also, with cooler temperatures, comes the desire to get more activities going and more accomplishments to talk about. I really think this is my favorite time of the year.
