I’m not a huge fan of Google simply on principle but I do like features and you’d think, looking at what I use, that I seriously love it. I do not and if there was an alternative that I liked equally as much, I’d never use Google.
My computer is a Chromebook because I love the simplicity of it; my spreadsheets that I use almost every day are all part of the Google documents; my phone is Android; I use gmail; I look to youtube for everything I need help with . . I’m a Google junkie.
I’ve already mentioned this but when I was in MO, Nicole had an Echo Show 5 (Amazon) and it was so nice in the kitchen because it would bring up a recipe. It was pretty amazing so I ordered one. We’re having so much trouble getting packages delivered. It seems to come in spurts . . right now we’re in a hit or miss state with getting deliveries . . more miss than hit. We had already decided to not renew our Prime subscription when it comes up again in March and with the shipping issues and Amazon’s “don’t care” attitude, we’re done. After the Echo arrived (late!), it occurred to me that for so many of the features, maybe all of them, I need a Prime subscription and we’re not keeping that so I sent the Echo Show back.
After doing some research, I decided to order the Google Nest Hub. Every time I look at it, as soon as I get over how much I dislike Google, but the photos I’ve taken with my phone stream through the Nest Hub screen. Every time I walk in the kitchen, I see pictures of Addie or Chad or Nicole. What’s not to love about that?
I think I paid $79 for it so it’s a lot less expensive than keeping my phone or iPad in the kitchen for recipes. I would love to have the doorbell setup on it but we don’t have a doorbell, nor do we need one because no one ever comes to our door . . and we like it like that! 🙂
The Nest Hub does a whole lot of things and once we have better internet, I’ll use it more but if all I ever do is see these pictures, hear my agenda for the day, check weather and use it for recipes, I’ll be thrilled with it.
If you have techie people on your Christmas list, and if they don’t already have this, I can’t imagine someone not loving it.
